PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Academics

Saint Agnes School is committed to excellence in education and to fostering an atmosphere of learning, critical thinking and peacemaking. Our focus is on nurturing the individual needs and growth of each child. We are committed to providing for the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social education of our students.

Arlington Catholic provides an academic atmosphere in which students are challenged to think critically and creatively and also be responsible Christian members of their community. Whether working independently or collaboratively, students at AC are inspired be a dedicated faculty to reach their fullest potential. In addition, our guidance staff strives to place students at their appropriate and most stimulating academic levels.

With courses offered at the college preparatory, honors and Advanced Placement levels, students have the opportunity to pursue a wide range of academic core courses and electives.

Athletics

Arlington Catholic has a long tradition of strong athletic teams
and sports accomplishments.

We offer 24 sports to students in grades 7-12.

While we are proud of our many awards and championships, our greatest accomplishments are creating the next generation of gentlemen and lady athletes.

While our teams play in a competitive environment, participation and good sportsmanship is what Arlington Catholic values most.

We have many different opportunities for athletes at all levels with coaches, most of whom are AC alumni or faculty members, that will teach them the fundamentals and skills of the
games, as well as be good role models outside of the sport.

Guidance

High School is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity....Enjoy your four years and learn all you can!

The Guidance Department at Arlington Catholic High School is committed to helping students reach their full scholastic and personal potential.

To this end, counselors provide academic support, college/career counseling, and social/emotional guidance. The services offered by Guidance are many and diverse, but our foremost concern is availability to students.

Throughout the school year, students will meet with their counselor both individually, and in groups. Additionally, guidance counselors are the link between parents, teachers, and students. Parents are encouraged to communicate their questions and concerns regarding their child’s well-being and success. Likewise, students are welcome to schedule additional appointments as needed.

Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

Community

Our school community is called to living the Gospel message of Christ in the 21st century. It is in the spirit of that message -- love one another -- that we offer spirit-building events and activities that contribute to a vibrant, inclusive school culture, and build bridges to understanding, compassion, and empathy. Throughout the year, student leadership groups and other groups will sponsor events that promote diversity, inclusivity, and belonging both on our campus and in the extended community.

Curricula

Each department’s philosophy statement includes language that reflects the school's mission and its commitment to equity. Course offerings, content, and pedagogy must evolve to best serve our students in this continually changing world. Each department will ensure that its curriculum includes diverse voices and perspectives, reflects pedagogy that speaks to diverse learning styles, and provides a safe space for dialogue.

Advocacy

We call our students to evolve into people of character who take responsibility for their mistakes, learn from them, and ultimately find peace in reconciliation. Students as well as faculty and staff must have a safe space to discuss issues of inequity that arise in or affect school life. AC commits to not allowing for any violation of students’ rights, responsibilities, and dignity -- whether written, verbal or via social media. Offenders will receive anti-bias education, and be referred to administration for corrective action on a case-by-case basis. Students who report incidents may be referred to guidance for mental/emotional health support services.
